#109-India's Largest Newspaper Publisher Relies on G Suite

News plays a pivotal role in our daily lives. Despite all the noise of the digital news outlets, newspapers still remain one of the principal mediums of news consumption. We read the newspaper daily. If we miss it in the morning, we don't forget to glance at the first page once or quickly skim through the pages during lunch, or when we come home in the evening. A newspaper has something for everyone. A student reads educational articles to improve their performance. It broadens their minds and is "helpful to students who need to be updated on the current issues surrounding them." It lets students explore the latest developments in the world of science, commerce, and arts. "By reading a daily newspaper, students are more informed about the role of science in their own lives and thus may feel more empowered to take control of their learning in the course, their college education, and their lives.", reports National Science Teachers Association. #102-GIPHY for Chrome Version 1.3 Review: Colorful, Lacks a Few Features

The gif or graphics interchange format is a lossless image file format introduced to the world by CompuServe in 1987. It is the third most widely used image file format on the web after png and jpeg, at the moment. Due to the format's astounding portability, evocative crispiness, and engrossing elegance, it will continue entertaining us for years to come, that's for sure. The format uses LZW or Lempel–Ziv–Welch compression. The LZW patent is owned by Unisys. The funny thing is, CompuServe had no idea about the patent when it created the gif format. The format can now be used freely, for all intents and purposes. The gif format supports both static and animated images, although animated gifs are the main reason behind the format's widespread popularity. The format is used for logos with solid color areas but limited variations. BuzzFeed, the world-renowned news outlet that publishes hot trending stories, has started a new era of gif-powered photojournalism.

Giphy is the search engine for gif images on the web. In addition to offering straightforward gif search, it offers a flurry of cool features. It released a starwars gif series recently which received a warm welcome from the starwars fans everywhere. Different gif categories available on Giphy are, reactions, anime, gaming, memes, sports etc. You can also submit your own gifs to Giphy. If you are an individual you can create a personal account on the platform. Having a Giphy account is the easiest way to have all your gifs organized in one place. It is also required if you want to delete a gif or edit its tags and source url later. You can delete a gif or edit its tags and source url only if you were logged in when you uploaded it to Giphy. If you are a brand, you can get an official brand account. The Giphy team is also very serious about privacy. All gifs uploaded by you are private by default unless you are an official artist or partner. There is no discrimination between logged in users and anonymous users in this regard.

If you are a chrome user, you will get addicted to GIPHY for Chrome, the gif search engine extension for chrome. Clicking on the extension button in the extension bar will open a panel that will show you the latest trending gifs on the web. At the bottom, you will see the gif search bar. The prediction algorithm is not very robust at the moment. The speed is good. The menu button at the left of the gif search bar presents a multitude of colorful options. For instance, you can open the menu and go to music, and then Beyonce to get gifs tagged #beyonce. The hashtags play a crucial role in the categorization of the gifs. The results are not saved. When you click on a gif, you will be taken to the page for that gif inside the panel and from there you can click and drag the gif to embed it wherever you want, copy link or search related gifs by clicking on a tag. The back button on the top-left takes you back to the results page from the gif page. Having this extension means, you can embed gifs in emails, facebook posts, and tweets in seconds. Slack and hipchat are also supported. We were not able to find any way to submit or create gifs through the extension. Both the features are available on the site but not on the extension. We are going with three out of five.
